Description
Apparatus apparently basically bimembrate, consisting of one mostly noncostate element and an array of costate elements forming transition series, Elements characteristically adenticulate but some serrated along upper margin of base, with longitudinal groove (s) and costae on lateral faces and wrinkle zone of striations near basal margin, Lateral faces either smooth or having fine longitudinal striations, especially near groove at midheight (best observable with SEM). [Apparatus reconstruction: BERGSTROM & SWEET, 1966, p. 355; COOPER, 1975, p. 993; CARNES, 1975, p. 163; BARRICK, 1977.]
