Description
Apparatus multimembrate, in Ordovician species consisting of an adenticulate nongeniculate element, an adenticulate geniculate element, and a symmetry-transition series of denticulate elements, post-Ordovician species lacking geniculate elements. Elements with short cusp and long base. Denticulate elements with numerous relatively small denticles along upper margin of base, shape of basal cross section varying from triangular to elliptical. [Apparatus reconstruction: BARRICK, 1977; CARNES, 1975, p. 11O-111; Haplobelodella is a name applied to adenticulate nongeniculate elements associated with other elements of the Belodella apparatus.]
